Caribbean Elections

About CaribbeanElections.com

CaribbeanElections.com was developed to provide current and historical information on politics in the Caribbean, with a focus on the electoral process. As such the site provides information for students, teachers, parents and the general public on how the various electoral systems with the Caribbean work. There is an intentional focus on citizenship education and the importance of being involved in the democratic process. Lesson plans, activities and resources are also provided to assist in classroom delivery and for general knowledge. We also include historical data which may be utilised by researchers.

Launched in January 2008 for the Barbados General Elections, the site now contains information on the 2008 elections in Grenada and the 2009 elections in Antigua and Barbuda. CaribbeanElections.com will continue to be updated to include information on all other countries within the next few months. We have also added the Caribbean Elections Community, a social network, to facilitate continued dialogue and sharing of information on politics, democracy, and related areas.

Our site is already one of the leading portals for election information in the region, recording in excess of 10,000 hits daily. On election night in Antigua and Barbuda CaribbeanElections.com recorded in excess of 250,000 hits. We have cooperative relationships with the electoral bodies in each country for which we present information. CaribbeanElections.com is a reference site for several major international election portals.

CaribbeanElections.com is provided as a public service by Unison Global Corporation, a Barbados-based Educational Technology consultancy company, which has been in operation since 2000.
