Eleston M. Adams serves the people of St. Paul in the House of Representatives. He was born and raised in Liberta Village in the constituency. He attended primary school at Liberta and continued his education at the All Saints Secondary School. Upon graduating from secondary school, he began his teaching career. He taught for 20 years at schools across Antigua including Liberta, John Hughes, Sea View Farms and Cobbs Cross Primary. He received training as a teacher at the Antigua State College.
Eleston, affectionately known as "Namba," is also a noted playright, actor, director and producer. He received a scholarship to attend the Edna Manley School for the Performing Arts in Jamaica. He's written over 14 full length plays that have played to packed audiences in Antigua, Montserrat, St. Martin and St. Thomas. He has conducted theatre workshops in Antigua and Anguilla. In Antigua, his work has been enjoyed at the then Rio Revealers Theatre. He has also assisted a number of performers and performances in Antigua including Calypsonians.
An avid sportsman, Mr. Adams played cricket and football, representing Antigua at youth level competitions. He has served as a leader and manager for numerous cricket and football teams in Antigua. Most notably, he successfully managed the Antigua National Football Team.
Mr. Adams also worked as a journalist where he distinguished himself as a top reporter at The Daily Observer.
In 2004, he was elected to serve the people of St. Paul, the community where he was born and raised and cares about deeply. In Government, he works with the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Culture and the Environment with special responsibility for culture and independence festivals.
Mr. Adams believes in taking care of people, especially the poorest of the poor. He lives for the sake of others and believes that Government as well as each and every member of our community plays an important role in the development of our society. To that end, he serves as an Ambassador for Peace through the Universal Peace Federation. Through that organisation, he has met with leaders from around the world.
