Born and raised at
Marchfield, St. Philip, Adriel Brathwaite believes that every
Barbadian boy and girl, regardless of the circumstances of
their birth, should have the opportunity to maximize his/her
full potential. Having seized the opportunity given to
him, through the enlightened policies of the Democratic Labour
Party and hard working parents, Adriel is now ready to give
back to his country and the constituency of St. Philip
South in particular. He entered politics as a
means of making a difference in the lives of his fellow
Barbadians.
Adriel Brathwaite has been consulting with
his constituents and lists the following issues as requiring
urgent attention:
- Uplifting youth development programmes
- Decent affordable housing
- Meaningful and productive activities for
older citizens who have made St. Philip a residential area
of choice
- Quality job opportunities
Adriel is well qualified to serve his
constituency at the highest level. He is a graduate of
Harrison College and the University of the West Indies, and
works as an Attorney-at-Law specializing in corporate and
international law. Highly respected in the International
Financial Services sector, Adriel has lived and worked in the
British Virgin Islands for 10 years as the Managing Director
of one of the largest trust companies on that island.
Adriel views community service as the acid
test of concern and commitment to the principle of putting
people first. Hence he has been a member of the Blue
Birds Club in St. Philip, the Government Industrial School
Cricket Club, and the Lions Club.
Adriel is married to Gailene
Spence-Brathwaite and is the father of three boys. |
