Patrick Todd is an
urbane product and resident of Bridgetown who is acutely aware
on the needs of the people of the City of
Bridgetown. In his work with the Beverly Hills
Club in New Orleans he comes face to face on a regular basis
with the challenges which confront inner city dwellers.
He lists unemployment, housing and sanitation (vector control)
as the major problems which his constituents would like him to
address. Patrick also works closely with the members of
the business community who live and work in the City.
Patrick received his secondary education at
the Lodge School and Harrison College. He then went on
to study Mathematics at the University of the West Indies and
Classroom Management at Erdiston Teachers' Training
College. He has worked as a Teacher all his adult
life. He is a long-standing Assistant Examiner with the
Caribbean Examination Council.
Patrick feels strongly about education as a
tool for development; and he believes that a second Education
Revolution is necessary to achieve the DLP vision for
Barbados. He is convinced that every child is born with
a talent; and he is anxious to make a contribution to an
education system that enables ALL our children to realize
their potential at school.
Patrick is a devout Christian with a unique
leadership style. He served with distinction as
President of the University of the West Indies Guild of
Undergraduates at the Cave Hill Campus and Chairperson of
several community and sports organizations. He regularly
organizes sporting events and donates prizes and sports gear
to participants of soccer, cricket, netball, road tennis and
basketball tournaments throughout
Bridgetown.
Patrick Todd is committed to eradicating
poverty from the face of Bridgetown and Barbados as a
whole. He believes that only a Party that cares for the
working class is capable of doing so. |
