Randall Rouse has lived
in his St. Joseph constituency for nearly
twenty years. He is a good community politician and
would make an excellent Parliamentary representative. As
a Livestock Farmer, Electrical Contractor, and active
Community Worker he comes into regular contact with his
constituents and listens to their problems. Top of the
list of concerns is the lack of effective representation,
closely followed by the high level of unemployment among young
males, bad roads and a poor transportation system, especially
on routes five and six.
Even out of political office, Randall has
begun to tackle the problems of his constituency. His
electrical home services business operates from St. Joseph and
employs a number of local persons. He believes in
empowering people through enterprise training and development;
and towards this end has helped to establish a number of
income generating projects in St. Joseph, such as farming
programmes at Lammings and Sugar Hill. In the area of
skills training he was instrumental in having the old St.
Bernard's Primary School converted into a centre for
development and conducted skills training programmes funded by
the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Randall Rouse was the founder of the Goodwill
Community Group, patron to Pride of Wilson Hill Community
Group and is Founder President of the St. Joseph Outreach
Organisation. He has helped in organising and managing a
number of sporting organizations including the very successful
Thunderbirds Basketball Team, the Outreach Jammers and the
Goodwill Cavaliers Cricket Team. He has been a member of
the Lions Club Scotland District.
Randall Rouse believes that governments
should provide the environment and incentives for the small
business sector to flourish. His technical education and
management training have prepared himself well for a
leadership role in the next DLP government.
Randall is the proud father of three children
and he wishes to pass on to their generation a Barbados that
is more caring and more developed than the one he inherited. |
