Attorney – at – law, Mr. Douglas Trotman, a newcomer to elective politics, will face the electorate as an independent in the constituency of St. Philip South. He is hoping to erase the 50 year record of National Hero, the Right Excellent Sir Frank Walcott who ran and won as an independent back in 1961.

Mr. Trotman attended Lodge School. He is also an educator who taught at three of the island's secondary schools, the Barbados Community College and lectured in Computer Science at the University of the West Indies.
