Barbados By-Election Results: St. Thomas - 23 May 1985

The death of the Rt. Hon. John M.G. Adams, Prime Minister and Barbados Labour Party representative for the constituency of St. Thomas, resulted in the By-Election on 23 May 1985.

Parties & Candidates

There were two candidates contesting the election - David Simmons, for the Barbados Labour Party (BLP), and Ronald Rock, for the Democratic Labour Party (DLP).

Results

The result was David Simmons retaining the seat for the BLP with 54.52% of the vote.

Voter Turnout

Voter turnout was 73.5%.
