FNM 2012 Election Team
Free National Movement Leader Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham Thursday (January 12, 2012) night, introduced the FNM’s 38 candidates who have been selected to represent his party in the upcoming general elections. 25% of this group according to Mr. Ingraham are new to front line politics, bringing together a dynamic team of men and women he says is a true representation of the Bahamian diaspora.
Present MPs who will not contest their seats in Bahamas elections 2012 include: DPM Brent Symonette, MP for St Anne’s (cabinet minister); Larry Cartwright, MP for Long Island (cabinet minister); Ken Russell, MP for High Rock; Earl Deveaux, MP for Marathon (cabinet minister); Verna Grant, MP for Eight Mile Rock, and Kendal Wright, MP Clifton.
Eight women are among the list of ratified candidates: Ella Lewis (Centreville), Loretta Butler-Turner (Long Island), Karen Butler (Tall Pines), Caron Shepherd (Englerston), Shonel Ferguson (Fox Hill), Monique Gomez (South Beach), Heather Hunt (Marathon) and Pakesia Edgecombe (West Grand Bahama and Bimini).
