Glynis Roberts is a people person. She listens well and empathizes with the disadvantaged. In her constituency she meets too many people who are suffering unnecessarily. The issues her constituents are most concerned about are:
- High levels of unemployment
- Poverty
- The failure to take advantage of opportunities for economic growth
Glynis is the Parliamentary Representative for St. George South, which is a growing area with enormous potential for further economic development. She believes that if the right conditions are created, the tourism industry could become the number one creator of employment and wealth for Grenada. Mrs. Roberts is convinced that bad governance, the neglect of social services and the international notoriety of the political leadership of the New National Party are responsible for the stagnation of Grenada, Carricou and Petite Martinique.
Glynis entered politics out of a love for her people. Her commitment to improving the quality of life of citizens through education, decent employment and a clean environment finds expression throughout her constituency. She is ready to be part of a Government that is committed to addressing these issues with all the resources at its disposal.
Glynis has been preparing herself for leadership all her life. She received her secondary education at the St. Joseph’s Convent and her tertiary education at the Grenada Technical and Vocational Institute. She then underwent profound vocational and diplomatic training and employment over a period of 22 years with the European Union. As a result, her knowledge of International Development Agencies is profound. Glynis currently works for the NDC and has a reputation for getting things done.
Glynis Roberts is actively involved in several Non-Government Organizations.
