Former Deputy Governor of the British Virgin Islands

Rosalie Adams is a former Deputy Governor of the British Virgin Islands.

Career

Mrs. Adams was promoted to the post of Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2004 and confirmed as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Social Development in 2005. She also served as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Communications and Works from 2006 to 2007 and Permanent Secretary, Premier’s Office from October 2007 to March 2011.  She was Interim Acting Permanent Secretary in the Premier’s Office from January 2012 to December 2013.

Mrs. Adams joined the Public Service in 1968 and taught at various public schools throughout the Territory. She served as Guidance and Counseling Officer until 1993 and was transferred to the Department of Education and Culture where she served as an Education Officer from 1999 to 2004.  She also served as a lecturer at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College. 

She served in the post of Deputy Governor, firstly in an acting capacity from 8 to 31 August 2016, followed by a substantive appointment from 1 September 2016 to 28 February 2018.
