Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, Barbados
Kenneth Best is a Barbadian lawyer, politician, and former parliamentarian.
Early life and education
Kenneth Best is a graduate of the Federal and the Modern High Schools, and the Barbados Community College. He then worked as an Agricultural Assistant and a Policeman before studying Law at London Guildhall University.
He currently practices general law, and specializes in personal injuries, land matters and business law.
In 2008, Best won the St. Michael East seat for the Democratic Labour Party. He was later selected as Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly.
Best was unsuccessful in his re-election bid for the St. Michael East seat in the 2013 general election for the DLP, losing to Trevor Prescod of the Barbados Labour Party (BLP). Best had previously won agains PRescod in the 2008 election.
Best is married to Thelma Best and they have five children.
