Teresina Bodkin is a former Speaker of the Montserrat Legislative Assembly.

Career

Teresina Bodkin is the first woman to be elected Speaker of the Legislative Council in Montserrat. A former secondary school math teacher, she served as Director of Statistics for the Government of Montserrat for 15 years.

Montserrat made history on Tuesday, 6 April 2010, as the first female Speaker of the Legislative Council was elected. In the presence of all members of the legislator, family and friends, Ms. Bodkin accepted the post which was previously held by Joseph Meade.
