Roland Spencer Byron was a former President of the Nevis Island Assembly.

Career

Spencer Byron was named the first President of the Nevis Island Assembly (NIA) following the attainment of Independence in 1983. He served as the President until his death in 1996. Following his death, Marjorie Morton was appointed as President.

Byron was the founding President of the Nevis Historical and Conservation Society (NHCS) and served in that capacity during the NHCS’s first nine years.

Byron was married to Mary Byron.

Byron died in 1996
