Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, and Rural Transformation, St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Saboto Scofield Caesar is a politician and current Cabinet Minister in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Early life and education
Saboto Scofield Caesar was born on 21 December 1980 and raised in Diamonds Village, the former Island Scholar attended the Diamonds Village Government Primary School, St. Martins Secondary School and St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College.
He completed tertiary education at the University of West Indies (Cave Hill), Hugh Wooding Law School and the University of London where he received a Masters of Law. After returning to St. Vincent, he immediately got involved in his community – working with the Diamonites Youth Group, the South Central Windward Development Organisation, YAM (Youth Awareness Movement) and the South Central Windward Producers Co-Operative.
Career
Saboto Caesar successfully contested the South Central Windward seat in 2010 for the ULP and has served in several capacities as a Minister of Government at a young age. He has served as Junior Minister in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries; and Minister of Housing, Lands and Survey, Physical Planning, Informal Human Settlement and Local Government. He was later appointed as Minister of Agriculture, Industry, Forestry, Fisheries and Rural Transformation.
He retained his seat in the 2015 general election as was reappointed Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, and Rural Transformation in the fourth Ralph Gonsalves Administration.
Personal life
In addition to his stellar educational credentials and community service, Caesar also has training in culinary arts. He has written extensively as a weekly newspaper columnist on matters of youth affairs. He is a devout Christian and a family oriented young man.
