Emmanuel Henry Giraudy, OBE, QC

Emmanuel Henry Giraudy was a lawyer and politician in Saint Lucia, and a former President of the Senate of St. Lucia.
Emmanuel Henry Giraudy was born in 1923.
Emmanuel Henry Giraudy served as President of the Senate of St. Lucia in the 1980s. He served as representative for Laborie – Vieux Fort from 1964 to 1969; and for Vieux Fort South from 1974 to 1979 on a United Workers Party (UWP) ticket. He also served as Chairman of the UWP until his death.
He was co-founder of Floissac & Giraudy, one of Saint Lucia's oldest and most reputable law firms.
Giraudy was married to wife Monica Giraudy (Beaubrun) and was the father of Marie-Josephine Mara Thompson and Jeannine Giraudy-McIntyre. Mara Thompson has served as Member of Parliament for St. John since 2011; and Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly of Barbados since 2013.
Honour and awards
He was appointed an Officer of Order of British Empire (OBE) in the 1986 New Years Honours.
Henry Giraudy died in 1993.
