Lionel Cleofoster Gomes was an Antiguan and Barbudan politician, trade unionist, and senator.
Early life and education
Lionel Cleofoster Gomes was born on 1 October 1939.
Career
Lionel Gomes served in the Upper House of Parliament from 20 March 1989 - 28 February 2002. He served in almost every executive capacity in the Antigua Workers Union; as the Officer of the United Progressive Party and Chairman of the UPP Grays Farm Branch. His last position was Chairman of the Antigua & Barbuda Transport Board
Death
Lionel Gomes died while hospitalised at the Adelin Medical Clinic on Saturday, 28 March 2009. He was 69.
He was accorded on official funeral on Wednesday, 15 April 2009 at the Spring Gardens Moravian Church.
