Walford Gumbs is a former Speaker of the National Assembly of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Career

Walford Gumbs is a former  President of the St. Kitts-Nevis Trades and Labour Union.

He served as Speaker of the National Assembly of St. Kitts and Nevis from 1996 to 2004.

In 2005, he was appointed as an Ambassador and attached to the Office of the Prime Minister in the Denzil Douglas Administration.

In 2008, Gumbs was appointed the Federation’s first-ever Ombudsman.

In 2012, Gumbs was unanimously elected as the Deputy Speaker of the OECS Assembly at its inaugural session in Antigua.
