Arthur Eugene Holder

Arthur Eugene Holder is a Barbadian lawyer, politician, the the designated Speaker of the House of Assembly of Barbados.

Early life and education

A graduate of UWI and post-graduate of Barry University, Miami, Arthur was born in Waterford, St. Michael, Barbados.

Career

Holder is Senior Attorney at Holder and Company, he is the former Principal of the Urban Adult College, Manager of Administration at the Barbados Child Care Board and Programme Officer with the National Council on Substance Abuse.

Holder successfully contested the St. Michael Central seat for the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) in the 2018 general election. He previously unsuccessfully contested the seat in the 2013 election. He is the designated Speaker of the 2018-2023 House of Assembly.

Personal life

Holder lives at Inchcape Terrace, St. Philip with his wife, Ruth. The father of seven, is an avid reader, cricket enthusiast and a fiercely competitive dominoes player.
