Government Senator, Barbados
Lynette Patricia Holder is a Barbadian management consultant, politician and current Senator.
Early life and education
Lynette Patricia Holder holds a post-graduate diploma in General Management from the University of the West Indies and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Surrey, United Kingdom. She is currently writing her dissertation – the Impact of Governance on the Integration Project in CARICOM - in completion of a Masters of Science in Integration Studies from the University of West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. Ms Holder is also a member of the Institute of Charter Secretaries and Administrators, Canada.
On 31 May 2018, Holder was appointed a Government Senator.
Lynette P. Holder is the chief executive officer of the Small Business Association of Barbados, a position held since 2007.
Holder has also been instrumental in the formation of the regional umbrella association for the MSME sector – the Caribbean Association of Small & Medium Enterprises, having been its first Executive Director from 2005 – 2008.
She serves on several Boards and committees in the non-bank financial sector in Barbados. These include, president of the City of Bridgetown Credit Union Ltd., director of the Progressive Cooperative Credit Union Ltd., Chairperson of the Credit Committee of the Barbados Cooperative & Credit Union League Ltd (BCCULL) and Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Central Fund Facilities Trust of the BCCULL.
