Austin Husbands is a Barbadian businessman, politician, and former election candidate.

Early life and education

Leonard Austin B. Husbands was born in Barbados on 1 February 1950. He was educated at St James Mixed School and Harrison College in Barbados.

Career

Husbands is a Banker, Entrepreneur, and Manager. He is currently Director of Bajpole Management Services Ltd.

In 1968, Husbands joined the Democratic Labour Party (DLP). In 2003 and 2008, Husbands unsuccesfully contested the St. James North seat as a candidate for the DLP, losing to incumbent Rawle Eastmond of the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) on both occasions.

Personal life

Married to Liz, Husbands is the proud father of five children.
