Alvera Maduro-Caines is a politician and a former Junior Minister in the British Virgin Islands.
Early life and education
Alvera Maduro-Caines was educated at the B.V.I. High School Tortola, British Virgin Islands (1971-1976), and Gary Training Center Texas, United States of America (1977-1979).
Maduro-Caines was first elected to Parliament in 2011 as Member for the Sixth District for the National Democratic Party (NDP).
Maduro-Caines career started in 1979 as a Registry Clerk with the Government of the British Virgin Islands. From 1980 to 1985, she was an Accounts Clerk with DEVCON International St. Thomas,
United States Virgin Islands. She moved to British Virgin Islands Philatelic Bureau in 1986 as Office Manager before agin moving to Citco B.V.I. Limited Tortola in 1987, first as a Systems Operator, then Legal Secretary, and Supervisor of Opperations. From 2004 to 2011, Mrs. Maduro-Caines was Assistant Post Mistress for the
Government of the British Virgin Islands.
In Novmebr 2018, Maduro-Caines was appointed as Junior Minister of Trade and Investment.
Maduro-Caines is married and is the mother of two children.
