Victor Jay Martin

Victor Jay Martin is a politician and former Member of Parliament in St. Kitts and Nevis.

Early life

Victor Jay Martin was born in 1955 in Nevis.  At age 16, Martin was one of the youngest state scholar in St. Kitts and Nevis (1971).

Career

Martin served in the Nevis Island Assembly (NIA) for 18 years (1983-2001) as the Nevis Reformation Party’s (NRP) representative for the St. Paul’s constituency.  He served as Minister of Communication and Works in the NIA in the first NRP Administration from Independence in 1983 to 1992, and then on the opposition benches from 1992 to 2001.

Martin successfully contested the Nevis #9 seat for the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) in the 1993 election. He did not seek re-election in 1995, neither did he contest any subsequent elections.
