Sir Hallam Grey Massiah, KBE, MD, CM
Former President of the Senate of Barbados
Sir Grey Massiah was a medical doctor and former President of the Senate of Barbados.
Early life and education
Sir Hallam Grey Massiah received his secondary education at The Lodge School in Barbados. He was a surgeon by profession.
Career
Sir Grey served as President of the Senate of Barbados from 1964 to 1966.
First appointed to the Legislative Council of Barbados on 24 February 1944, he was re-appointed to the Council in 1949, 1954, 1959, and 1964.
Honours and awards
Sir Grey was conferred with the Honour of Knight Bachelor in the Queen's 1960 Birthday Honours for public service to Barbados. In the Queen's 1966 Brithday Honours, he was appointed a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (KBE). Previously, Sir Grey was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1956.
