Konris Maynard is a politician and Member of Parliament in St. Kitts and Nevis.

Early life and edcuation

Konris Maynard, or 'King Konris' was born on 8 July 1983  to Linkon and Verlyn Maynard in St. Kitts and Nevis. He received his early education at the Victoria Road Preschool, Maurice Hillier Memorial Junior School, Basseterre Junior High School, and Basseterre Senior High School. He later attended the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College. In 2007, he graduated with 1st Class Honours from UWI with a BSc Electrical and Computer Engineering Degree for the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus. In 2009, he graduated from the University of Waterloo with a MEng Electrical and Computer Degree.

Career

Upon returning to St. Kitts and Nevis, he started the Consultancy Business in Computer and Software  Systems (Konserv) and served as Lecturer of Computer Science at CFBC.

Maynard is most notable for having won the Saint Kitts and Nevis National Calypso Show four times in succession, a record only he holds. Maynard also won a fifth crown, to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of the Independence of Saint Kitts and Nevis.

In the Saint Kitts and Nevis general election, 2015 Maynard was elected to represent the constituency of St Christopher #3. He sits as a member of the opposition Saint Kitts and Nevis Labour Party.

Honours and awards

In 2009, Maynard was awarded the Medal of Honour for his contribution to calypso and entertainment.
