Lisa Penn-Lettsome is a former Acting Deputy Governor of the British Virgin Islands.
Early life and education
Penn-Lettsome holds a Master of Laws, School of Financial Services from the University of New South Wales; a
International Diploma in Compliance from University of Manchester Business School & International Compliance Association; and a
Law degree with Honours from the University of the West Indies.
Lisa Penn-Lettsome is senior counsel in the Global Finance and Corporate Groups of Walkers' British Virgin Islands office. Prior to joining Walkers, Lisa worked as Acting Registrar of the High Court, Registrar of Companies, Magistrate and Supervisor of Elections for the Government of the British Virgin Islands and more recently spent five years as the Deputy Managing Director of the British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission.
In February, 2006 Penn-Lettsome was elected as President of the BVI Bar Association. She was also the first Chairman of the BVI’s Financial Investigations Agency. For over five years, she served as the Secretary of the BVI’s Reporting Authority established under the Proceeds of Criminal Conduct Act. Lisa is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, the International Compliance Association, and the Offshore Institute. She is also a member of the British Virgin Islands Reading Council and the International Reading Association.
She served as Acting Deputy Governor from January to September 2004.
