The Executive Council of the British Virgin Islands

The Executive Council, with the Governor as chairman, includes the Attorney General, (ex-officio) the Premier (appointed by the Governor from those elected to the Legislative Council) and three other ministers appointed by the Governor on the advice of the Premier.

Roughly 24 hours after firing Ronnie Skelton from his post as Minister of Health and Social Development, Premier Dr D Orlando Smith appointed a replacement for both him (Skelton) and Archibald Christian whose Junior Minister of Tourism post was revoked the previous week. Marlon Penn was appointed Minister for Health and Social Development; Alvera Maduro-Caines as Junior Minister of Trade and Investment; and Hubert O’Neal as Junior Minister of Tourism.
