Dr. Godwin Friday, a distinguished gentleman of Bequia, resides with his wife and children, Nicholas and Christian at Port Elizabeth, Bequia. Dr. Friday has an exceptional educational background and impeccable professional achievements.
His education was founded at the Bequia Anglican Primary and Secondary Schools as well as the St. Vincent Boys’ Grammar School. Dr. Friday has an impressive tertiary education. While attending the University of Waterloo, Ontario Canada, he attained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Political Science, and his Masters in History. He then obtained both his Bachelor of Laws Degree and Doctorate in Political Studies at Queen’s University in Canada. During 1993 to 1994 he articled at the Department of Justice in Ottawa Ontario, Canada and in 1995 he was called to the Bar and became a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada.
Dr. Friday’s professional life has seen him nurturing younger minds in his position of teacher at the Bequia Anglican High School and as a lecturer in Political Studies at Queen’s University in Canada. He worked in the capacity of Project Coordinator/Researcher in the District Immigrant Services. He also acted as Legal Counsel to the Canada Department of Justice and the Ontario Regional Office. In 2002, he was called to the Bar in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Out of a long standing desire to serve the people of his community and his country Godwin Friday entered politics. In the 2001 Elections he was elected as the Member of Parliament for the Northern Grenadines, where he filled the shoe of our beloved Sir James Mitchell admirably. Dr. Friday appreciates the need to keep faith with our past and understands our present challenges. Dr. Friday’s achievements are a reflection of his hard work and dedication to the people of the Northern Grenadines and the nation as a whole. Few men have the character of Dr. GodwinFriday and the commitment to the development of the Northern Grenadines and St. Vincent and the Grenadines as a whole. Dr. Friday is the best man to represent the people of the Northern Grenadines.
