With a genuine concern for his constituency, Nigel Stephenson is prepared to be a steward for the people. He believes in equal opportunity and aims to restore hope within South Leeward. Education development is high on his list of priorities. He believes wholly in service over self.
Few men have demonstrated dedication to the improvement and enhancement of their communities like Nigel. He has demonstrated that serving your fellow man can be a pathway to the higher honour of national service. This is why he has decided to step forward and bring true representation to the people of South Leeward.
Nigel has always sought to excel at every endeavour he undertakes. This is demonstrated by his distinguished academic achievements. He has maintained this trend throughout his life to the level of external student of the University of London in the Bachelor of Science in Economics and Management Programme.
Having a firm belief that education is the backbone of development, he entered the teaching profession twelve years ago. Having taught subjects such as Geography, Principles of Business and Economic, he has amassed a wealth of experience and success in enlightening out nations youth. Knowledge is power and Mr. Stephenson is putting power in the hands of the leaders of tomorrow.
Nigel believes in all-round development as is shown by his involvement in sport at the community, national and regional level. He is actively involved in many types of athletics as Chairman of the South Leeward Cricket and Netball Associations, Games Secretary of the South Leeward Football Association, Executive Member of the South Leeward Sports Association, Executive Member of the Vermont Sports and Cultural Club as well as Vice-President of the Campden Park Sports and Cultural Club.
Not to be limited in his scope, at the national and regional levels, he is a Certified National Netball Umpire and Certified West Indies Level One Cricket Coach. To his credit, he was Liaison Officer and Technical Advisor to the victorious 2005 Trinidad and Tobago Under-19 Cricket Team. These endeavours pay tribute to a man who has contributed to making a difference by doing something that he loves. This same consideration will be given to his next role as the elected Member of Parliament in South Leeward.
As Vice-President of the Coconut Range Development Organisation and Executive Member of the Buccament Development Organisation, Nigel Stephenson has declared his commitment to community development. Added to this is his spiritual devotion as District Secretary and Board Member of the Wesleyan Holiness Church, and Treasurer of the Campden Park Wesleyan Holiness Men’s Fellowship. The people of South Leeward could not look to a better man to look after their interests at a national level.
