Born, raised and educated in St. Vincent, Cecil McKie is an accomplished professional with deep experience in government and the private sector. Senator McKie knows how to develop our economy and create jobs and opportunities for Vincentians. He's a selfless man who has given thousands of hours of his time volunteering to make our country a better place.

Cecil McKie is connected to the community. He's especially committed to developing our athletes and promoting health and fitness in our country. That's why he served multiple terms as President of the Arnos Vale Educational, Sports and Cultural Organization (AVESCO) creating sporting opportunities for our young people. He also served as a past executive member / vice president of the SVG Athletics Associations and the SVG Football Federation. And, he's a past President of the SVG Masters Cricket Committee.

There's more. Senator McKie twice served as President of the Rotary Club of St. Vincent South and as Chairman of the West St. George Area Council 'E.'

Professionally, Senator McKie helped keep the National Commercial Bank on it's feet during the disastrous NDP reign that nearly brought the bank to it's knees. He served as a Branch Manager for Bequia, Canouan, Union Island and Halifax Street from 1980-2001. He then joined St. Hill Insurance Co. Ltd. where he worked until February 2010.
In Government, he has served as a ULP Senator and as Minister of State - Ministry of National Mobilization, Social Development, Gender Affairs, Non-Governmental Organizations Relations, Persons with Disabilities, Youth Affairs and Sports.

Senator McKie handled a large portfolio and delivered for our country. He built and fenced in sports fields. He brought NGO's into the country and ensured they were meeting our needs. He ensured that woman were given equal pay for equal work and that both women and the disabled were treated fairly in our society. And, he worked with a variety of social programmes that take care of, uplift and create opportunities for our people.
