Edwin Augustus Snagg attended the Diego Martin Secondary School and went on to study at the John Donaldson Technical Institute in Trinidad. Edwin is a former public servant and teacher at the Emmanuel High School and St Martin's Secondary School.
In 1973 returned to Trinidad and worked with the McEarneny group of companies he also served as the Greiviance officer with Engineering Enterprises an English firm. In 1980 joined the Port Authority of T&T in its container operations div. later at the labour dept for over 10 years. He spent a short period of his life a the American Life &General Inspection Company as an Executive member of the Seamen and Waterfront Workers Union and also as Vice President of the Brotherhood of Construction and Industrial Workers Union.
Edwin's activism abroad continued as he became a member of the National Joint Action Committee (NJAC) Black nationalist movement in Trinidad from 1970.
In SVG member of the Young Socialist and founding member of both OBCA and BLAC. As a a self -employed buisnessman in Union, Edwin joined the ULP in 1997 and became its candidate in the 1998 elections for the Southern Grenadines. Edwin held the position of Deputy chairman from 1998 and chairman from 2000 to present. Served in the ULP administrationfrom 2001 as Senator and Parliamentary Secretary PM's office 2001/5 with resposibility for labour and Grenadines Affairs.
Since 2006, Edwin has served as the Director Grenadines Affairs.
He is also the Chairman of the SVG Port Authority since 2008, and proudly serves as the SVG commissioner to the International Whaling Commission from 2002 to present.
